Lady GaGa und das Kleid aus echtem Fleisch

Bei den VMA's fährt Lady GaGa immer groß mit ihren Kostümen auf. Auf dem roten Teppich trug sie dieses Jahr eine Kreation von Alexander McQueen, darauf folgte ein Ballkleid aus Leder und Stoff. Zum Ende der Preisverleihung, Lady GaGa gewann 8. Auszeichnungen, trat die Sängerin in einem Kleid das komplett aus Fleisch bestand die Bühne. Sängerin Cher, die ihr den Preis verlieh, klaute ein Stück vom Kleid. Im Nachhinein wurde behauptet, dass Kleid sei gar nicht aus echtem Fleisch sondern nur ein Fake. Jetzt bestätige der Designer des Kleides Franc Fernandez, dass das Kleid aus echtem Fleisch war. Schon bei dem Shooting für die Vogue Hommes Japan trug sie einen Bikini aus Fleisch. Ich kann dies einfach nicht befürworten, da ich es als absolute Verschwendung von Lebensmitteln sehe. Menschen sterben, weil sie nichts zu essen haben und Lady GaGa trägt ein paar Kilo für ein paar Stunden, dann werden Kiloweise Fleisch weggeschmissen. Ich finde es einfach ekelhaft. Allein schon, dass für so etwas ein Tier sterben musste, was ethisch sowie moralisch gar nicht geht.

H&M - By Night : Kleider Kollektion

Wie schon vor wenigen Wochen in diesem Post geschrieben kommt H&M bald mit einer 20-teiligen Kollektion nur mit Kleidern um die Ecke. Die Kollektion soll ein Kleid für jedes Mädchen / Frau beinhalten, egal was ihr Geschmack ist. Und auch so sehen die ersten Eindrücke aus. Ob der Geschmack eher zum rockigen schwarzen Kleid mit Nieten tendiert, im romantischen Kleid in nude und grün oder sexy mit Leoprint. Dies wird die erste Kollektion sein, es sollen drei weitere folgen, auch im Sommer 2011.




Das einzige was mich da stört ist, dass mal wieder nichts für die Herren dabei ist.

Der Trailer zu Black Swan mit Natalie Portman

Vor wenigen Wochen hatte ich das Bild vom Set des Filmes Black Swan gepostet(hier), man sah auf diesem Schauspielerin Natalie Portman in einem schwarzen Ballettkostüm von Rodarte. Da viele von euch, genau so wie ich, großes Interesse an diesem Film hatten, da die Kostüme einfach bezaubernd aussahen, wollt ich euch jetzt den Trailer zu diesem Thriller zeigen. Auch der Vorgeschmack als Video überzeugt vollkommen und macht den Film zu einem Highlight im Kinoherbst 2010.

Miu Miu : 1 Kleid - 3 Cover

Schon mit der Frühjahres und Sommerkollektion 2010 avancierten die Kleidungsstücke zu dem Trend des Sommers. Ob es jetzt die kleinen Krägen mit Katzen oder nackten Mädchenzeichnungen sind, oder Tops und Hosen mit einem Schwalbenprint, alles wurde von den Bloggern ausgiebig geredet. Selbst Zara sprang auf diesen Trend und schickten eine ähnlichen Jumpsuit in die Geschäfte, der schnell seinen Weg in die Herzen vieler fand.

Auch mit der Kollektion für den Herbst und Winter 2010/11 traf Miuccia Prada wieder genau den Nerv der Zeit. Kleider im Sixtieslook, nicht zu kurz oder lang, in lila, occa oder schwarz. Viele Magazine haben die Kollektion wieder für sich entdeckt und verwenden mit vorliebe dieses Kleid aus der aktuellen Kollektion. Auf dem Laufsteg wurde die Variante in occa gezeigt. In kurzer Zeit konnte man dieses jetzt schon auf drei Titelblättern internationler Modemagazine sichten : einmal auf der britschen Vogue an Freja Beha Erichsen, der britischen Elle an Sängerin Lily ALlen und dem W Magazine getragen von Schauspielerin Eva Mendez. An den breiten Trägern des Kleides befinden sich viele Blumen aus Metall, die dem Kleid einen modernen Touch verleihen. Vornerum kommt dann noch eine große Schleife dazu und fertig ist der perfekte Mix aus Retroelementen der 60er und moderner Schneiderkunst.





Falls euch das Kleid auch gut gefällt, ab Ende September gibt es die Kollektion in allen MiuMiu Stores zu kaufen. Eventuell könnt ihr es sogar Online über Net-A-Porter.com oder mytheresa.com erwerben. Kostenpunkt liegt zwischen 3.000,00 und 5.000,00 Euro, leider kein Schnäppchen.

Asos Playsuit - MiuMiu like

Diese Sommerkollektion von MiuMiu wurde echt schon überall durchgekauft und sehr groß gefeiert. Bei Zara gab es im Mai ein ähnliches Kleid mit Katzen drauf. Jetzt bin ich bei Asos auf diesen Playsuit gesoßen, dass sowohl nach der MiuMiu Variante als auch der Zara Variante aussieht. Doch: hierbei handelt es sich ja um einen Playsuit. Das heißt, es ist wie ein Overall, nur mit kurzen Shorts untenrum. Für den Sommer doch perfekt geeignet. Bestellen kann man diesen hier.

Sex And The City : Carries beste Oufits

Heute Abend ist es endlich soweit, der neue Sex And The City Film läuft in den deutschen Kinos ein! Carrie und Co. sind auf der großen Leinwand zurück und deutschlandweit warten alle gespannt, was wohl diesesmal passieren wird. Natürlich achten die Zuschauer neben der Story besonders auf die Outfits von Carrie, Samtnha, Charlotte und Miranda. Ich habe heute mal einige meiner Lieblingsoutfits von Carrie aus der Serie und dem ersten Film zusammen gesucht. Natürlich gab es noch viele weitere tolle Stücke, doch entweder habe ich die Bilder nicht gefunden oder konnt mich einfach nicht entscheiden. Ich habe spontan welche gesucht die mir eingefallen sind.

Oben seht ihr einmal ihr berühmtes Tütü das sie im Intro der Serie trug. Daneben seht ihr eine Kombination aus einer Weste und einem weitem Rock von Prozena Schouler, dies hat sie im 1. Film getragen. Ganz rechts ist ein Outfit aus Paris, das Kleid ist von Balenciaga und die weißen Schuhe von Christian Louboutin.


Unten ist das pinke Kleid von Oscar De La Renta, bekam sie in der Serie von Alekzandre geschenkt, dazu kombinierte Carrie ein paar silber-farbende Manolos. Daneben eine Robe von Versace Atelier die sie ebenfalls in Paris trug. Rechts ein weißes Kleid, dessen Designer ich leider nicht finden konnte.

Lara Stone's Wedding Dress

Letzte Woche hat ja Supermodel Lara Stone ihren Freund David Williams geehelicht und trug sowohl bei der Zeremonie als auch bei der Party ein Kleid das extra für sie von Ricardo Tisci, Chefdesigner bei Givenchy, gerfertigt wurde. Doch auf den veröffentlichten Bildern konnte man das Brautpaar nur ab dem Oberkörper sehen und uns blieb ein kompletter Blick auf Lara's Kleid verwehrt. Heute tauchten dann aber diese zwei Bilder auf und man kann das ganze Kleid bestaunen. Es schmeichelt ihrem Körper perfekt und trifft ihren Stil genau.

Schon vor ein paar Monaten hat sich das Supermodel Lara Stone mit dem Komiker David Williams verlobt, sie sind seit 2009 ein Paar. Da sie der Liebling vieler Designer ist, lag es nicht fern, dass sie eine Extraanfertigung für ihren großen Tag bekam. Das Brautkleid war von Givenchy-Chefdesigner Riccardo Tisci entworfen und auf ihre Traummaße angepasst! Bei der Zeremonie trug La Stone ein weißes langes Kleid, das an den Säumen goldene Details hatte. Auf der anschließenden Feier trug sie dann ein kurzes Kleidchen, ebenfalls für sie von Herrn Tisci gemacht. Dies war komplett mit Steinen und Elementan besetzt und mit einem Gürtel definiert. Natürlich betonten beide ihre perfekten Maße und ließen alles am richtigen Platz sitzen! Das Brautkleid hat angeblich um die 40.000 Euro gekostet, man heiratet ja nur einmal.

Zu den Gästen gehörten unter anderem Elton John mit Mann, David Williams Patner bei Little Britain Matt Lucas und viele weitere bekannte Gesichter der britischen Promiszene.

Early morning, lunchtime and a bad habit

First off, I woke up at 3AM this morning.
Try as I might, I couldn't go back to sleep. My brain automatically starting running through the routine that I had to teach this morning to get ready for homecoming.
I had to be up at 4 anyway to get ready for practice, but I was still bugged. I so could've used that extra hour of sleep.

Despite the early morning, my day has ended up being splendid. The boots that I ordered from Gojane.com arrived today. It made me actually excited for the cooler weather that we're scheduled to have this weekend. Troy brought in these delicious cookies that his sweet wife made. Also, Marrdy stopped by today so we got to chat before I left for lunch.

At lunch, I went to the office where my sister and one of my brothers work. I visited with the two of them for a bit before heading back to work.

I got these shoes back when I hosted a shoe party. I got all kinds of discounts on top of the already low prices so they were super cheap!


Now lets talk about a bad habit I've picked up sometime over the last few months.

Take a peak in the upper left hand corner at my finger nails.

Ugly, right?

Every time I paint my nails, the next day I start to pick at the polish. It is not something that I conciously do, I just look down and notice I've chipped off half the polish. I really hate that I do this because I'm constantly having to repaint my nails.

Any suggestions on how to quit this bad habit?

Shooting stars

This morning, I saw a shooting star for the fourth day in a row. It reminded me of something Wendy said to me last week when she saw one. She said, that because she saw that star, it was going to be a good day. Well shouldn't that mean that I'm having a good week?

Well, it's not been a bad week...

Random Thoughts

First off, I want to address the lack of daily outfit posts. I've quite loved my outfits so far this week, but I've not really been inspired to take any photos. I'm guessing it is because I haven't been sleeping very well this week or exercising so I'm feeling very blah, not in a photogenic mood. I've debated recreating each of the outfits and taking photos of each all in one session. We'll see...

I've recently re-discovered ebay. It's not that I've ever really forgotten it was there, I've just not felt the urge to search and discover treasures on there. Sure I visit various vintage clothing stores on there, but I have placed a bid on there in years.

Randomly perusing the site last week, I came across a really cute colorblock dress. I quite liked it, placed a bid and won it at a very reasonable price.
I knew when bidding that it would probably be a touch too big for me, but I couldn't resist. However, it never occurred to me that it would be too long for me. The dress, as seen in the picture the seller took, goes a few inches below my knees. I didn't love that.

I've been wanting to get into sewing, doing my own alterations and making my own clothes for quite some time. I've been looking into purchasing a sewing machine as well. I very nearly impulsively purchased one last night at Target. My problem is I'm not sure what sorts of features I should be looking for when I purchase one. I'll have to keep researching I guess. For now, if I want to wear this dress, some serious alterations need to take place. The Clothes Horse has inspired me to go ahead and do it.

Last night, I took a seam ripper to the seam at the waist line and deconstructed the dress. I cut off several inches and begun reshaping it. I ran out of time to put it back together however so it's lying in pieces on my floor. As soon as I have time, I'm going to borrow Traci's sewing machine and put it back together.

If you have any tips for gathering the fabric to attach it to an elastic band, let me know. That is the only part of this project I can't visualize in my head and that worries me.

Last night when I was at Target, I also purchased a Kimono Dress from the GO International line.


I fell in love with the detailed pleats on the shoulder. I didn't love the way my body lost any semblance of a womanly shape in it though. I know I could accessorize it with some sort of belt or something at the waist. I bought it because I have one belt that may work, but I want more options. How would you accentuate this dress with accessories. Do tell.

After moving, it took some time for the Victoria's Secret catalog to catch up with me. By the time that it did, it was all clearance stuff, nothing new. Boring.
Well yesterday I got my fall preview catalog. As usual, I want pretty much everything in it. Blazer, skirt, dress, tops; what should I get?
Go figure.


After buying the AA Bandeau Dress and finding out how much I loved it, I've been wanting more colors in it and in the pencil skirt version as well. How will I decide which of the many colors to get and which version first?


After seeing two great scarf outfits online by inspiration and SLC Socialite, I'm officially on the hunt for a great scarf. I spent all day looking and I couldn't decide on anything. I'm much too indecisive.

I think my obsession with these shoes started after seeing them on Taghrid. I want them ever so bad!


I've officially fallen for the romper trend. I have no idea if I can pull it off, but I'm will to try with this romper. So yeah, I want it!


I have been obsessing over this skirt for a while now so I went into American Apparel to try it on. Yeah, it didn't look as hot on me and I have no idea what I'd wear with it so I left the store without it. The trouble is I still want it. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe I'd like this other skirt more.
Or, maybe I want them both...


In general, I've been obsessed with adding blazers, skirts and jackets to my wardrobe. I've got ideas in my head of what I want, but I'm not sure if these ideas exist in the real world. I really just need to get a sewing machine ASAP and start making my own clothes. I've been down this road before and it ended with me giving up because I have no idea what I need to be looking for in a sewing machine. Any tips?
